BIO 334 - VERTEBRATE EMBRYOLOGY


The processes of vertebrate development, emphasizing human development, are studied. Lecture and laboratory sessions cover gametogenesis, fertilization, cleavage, histogenesis, organogenesis, placentation, and delivery. Endocrine regulation of reproduction is stressed. Laboratories use frog, chick, and pig embryos. Relevant medical and social issues are analyzed.
