ATC 230 - INTRO TO ATHLETIC TRAINING


This course is intended to introduce students to the profession of athletic training and sportsmedicine, including history, function, career opportunities and professional standards of thenational (NATA) and state (PATS) organizations, as well as the educational objectives of theathletic training major. This course is designed for students who are interested in fields such as:athletic training, physical therapy, sport medicine, physiology of exercise, kinesiology, nutrition,EMT, and other sports medicine related fields. This course focuses on the basic information andskills important in the recognition of, care, prevention, and preliminary rehabilitation of athleticinjuries. The course includes class work and hands-on application.
