Program Description

The MBA Program at Benedict College is designed to meet the needs of persons who are interested in furthering their existing career path or who would like to take their career path in a different direction. Candidates for the degree will be expected to complete a minimum of 36 semester credit hours. Twenty-four (24) of the 36 hours will constitute the MBA Core. The MBA Core is required of all candidates along with a minimum of 12 hours in the concentration.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is offered in two tracks: Track I - General Business and Track II - Specializations. Up to 18 credit hours of prerequisite coursework in business may be required for candidates who do not hold an undergraduate degree in business or who demonstrate insufficient preparation in foundational business knowledge.

A regularly matriculating full-time student should be able to complete the MBA degree in approximately one year of concentrated study. Students who are required to complete prerequisite coursework, as well as those who enroll on a part-time basis, will typically require more than one year to satisfy all degree requirements.

MBA Program Tracks

The Master of Business Administration program offers two distinct tracks to meet the diverse career goals of graduate students.

Track I - General Business

The General Business concentration is designed to prepare candidates to excel in a dynamic and evolving business environment. Graduates of this track are expected to think critically, communicate effectively, and apply problem-solving skills to complex organizational challenges. Emphasis is placed on developing technical competence, analytical ability, and business acumen, along with a broad understanding of core business functions. Students in this track will complete coursework across multiple disciplines, including accounting, economics, management, finance, and marketing.

Track II - Specializations

The Specializations track is designed for candidates seeking advanced expertise in a targeted area of business practice. This track allows students to deepen their knowledge and skills through specialized coursework aligned with their professional interests and career aspirations. Specializations are offered in the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Business Analytics
  • Cybersecurity
  • Finance
  • Healthcare Administration
  • Self-Designed Specialization

Students pursuing Track II will graduate with both a solid foundation in business administration and focused expertise in their chosen area, equipping them to take on leadership roles in specialized industries and sectors.
