BIO 431 - VIROLOGY This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the field of virology, focusing on the fundamental principles governing virus biology, replication, and pathogenesis. Students will explore the structure, classification, and evolution of viruses, as well as the mechanisms viruses use to infect host cells and evade immune responses. The course will cover major viral families, including those that cause significant human disease. Topics include virus-host interactions, viral transmission, vaccines, antiviral therapies, and therapeutic viruses.
